David Miller McKinney, 93, a longtime resident at 216 Greengate Lane, Spartanburg, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at White Oak Estates. He was born August 17, 1919, in Spartanburg, the son of the late Andrew and Addie Corn McKinney. He was a self-employed carpenter and retired from USC-Spartanburg. Mr. McKinney was a kind and loving husband who was outgoing and helpful to all, was actively retired, and loved spending time with his family. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church, and a member of the Royal Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, the love of his life, for 73 years, Louise Belcher McKinney; a daughter, Dianne McKinney Floyd (Joe) of Little River, SC; a granddaughter, Marion Jacobs (K. J.); a grandson, Hayes Webber; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews who will miss him. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Honorary Escort will be members of the Royal Sunday School Class.
