David Van McFalls of Una, SC passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, October 28, 2022. He was the husband of Sharon K. McFalls of the home for 50 years and was the son of the late Cecil and Juanita McFalls of Spartanburg.
David was born in Rutherfordton, NC and loved the mountains. He was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church. David was a drywall finisher for 38 years. He loved his work and took great pride in doing his best job. David attended Boiling Springs High School. He was a Christian and loved his Lord God. David loved classic, fast, loud cars, cruising, NASCAR, basketball, baseball, the UNC Tarheels, fishing, gardening, music, attending concerts, taking trips to the mountains, and family vacations.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, April Reininger (Bryan), Amie Cunningham (Chris), and Audra Blackwell (James); grandchildren, Trevor Reininger, Aubrey Reininger, Monroe Blackwell, Thomas Cunningham, Jayden Cunningham and Kayla McFalls; great grandchild, Paislee McFalls; brothers, Steve McFalls (Connie) and Greg McFalls; mother-in-law, Joan Kennedy; and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, David is predeceased by a son, James William David McFalls; grandparents, David and Georgia McFalls of Tryon, NC and Boney and Daisey Conner of Mill Spring, NC; cousins, Roy Conner, Tony Conner and Dianne Hodge; niece, Allison Mull; and many beloved aunts and uncles.
A traditional Native ceremony will be held at the graveside on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Hwy 9, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by Rev. James Carter.
