David Fisher

David Blair Fisher, 65, of Roebuck, SC died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his home. Born February 28, 1949 in Statesville, NC and reared in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late Carlos Blair and Viola Holdsclaw Fisher. Mr. Fisher was CFO of Farrell Chevrolet for 43 years. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, chairman of Deacons and on numerous committees. He also served on the board at Greenville Technical College and the Automotive Service Accreditation Program. He was a graduate of Mars Hill College. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Suzanne Bussey Fisher; sons, Jason Fisher (Amy) of Roebuck, Matthew Fisher (Meredith) of Moore, and Joseph Fisher (Suzanne) of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren, Kaylee, Cara and Jacob Fisher, Katelyn Fisher and Leighton Fisher; sisters, Bonnie McCarson of Clemmons, NC and Marilyn Howell (John) of Asheville, NC; sisters-in-law, Joy Bussey of Spartanburg, SC and Cindy Nesbit of Lexington, NC; aunts, Merle Franklin of Dallas, NC and Vivian Elliott of Conover, NC; nieces and nephews, Christy Crain and Allison Bussey, Shannon, Eric, and Joel McCarson, Carole Ramsey, John David Howell and Tim Howell, and Takcus and Laryssa Nesbit. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Larry Nesbit and brothers-in-law, David McCarson and Joe L. Bussey. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Southside Baptist Church, 316 S. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306, by the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson and the Rev. Dale Sutton. Visitation will follow in the church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church Youth Center Renovation Fund; or Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Avenue Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
