David E. Estes of Moore, SC passed into his eternal rest at his home on June 12, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Estes was born in Joanna, SC on June 21, 1943. He was pre-deceased by his parents Charles Webb and Blanche Bradley Estes, a brother, Bobby Estes, and sisters Vera Bodie and Shirley Adam. Mr. Estes is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jo Ann Hammett Estes, a son Michael Estes (Stacey), daughters Traci Wines, Shannon Young (Brian), Toni Rogers, and Missy Dyees. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Ashleigh Wines (Alex), John Douglas Booker, Laura Booker, Cory Wines (Molly), Joshua Wines, Morgan Young, Noah Estes, Caleb Bush, Carter Young, Colby Wines, Sophia Rogers and Sam Rogers, along with many special friends and extended family. A graduate of Clinton High School, David proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1961 to 1965. He was retired from Lucent Technologies after 36 years service. He was dedicated to his family and devoted most of his time to his grandchildren, ensuring that they were happy and learned how to enjoy life to the fullest. Mr. Estes' family will receive friends on Monday morning from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. His Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:00 A.M., conducted by the Rev. Travis Northcutt. The family is at the home and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice House, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
