David Cook

David Eugene Cook, 74, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center. He was born May 16, 1946 in Rutherfordton, NC, a son to the late Jefferson M. and Mildred Lister Cook. David was a member of United Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and sound technician. He was a dispatcher in the trucking industry and enjoyed photography, baseball and golf. David proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth "Beth" Mason Cook; a son, Tim Cook (Tamara) of Inman, SC; a granddaughter, Marisa Cook; and a brother, John L. Cook (Jane) of Hendersonville, NC. He was predeceased by a son, Travis Michael Cook and a brother, Steve L. Cook. Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021, at United Baptist Church, 7319 Valley Falls Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303, conducted by the Rev. Robert Emery and the Rev. Dr. D. J. Horton. Burial, with military honors, will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
