Darrell Keener

Darrell Edward Keener, 71, of 104 Mulberry Street, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at his home. Born July 23, 1939, in Lincoln County, NC, he was a son of the late Austin Washington and Florence Eugene Wentz Keener. He was a former service manager at Kenworth Trucks, an employee of Ingles at Boiling Springs, and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Sanctuary Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, Amelia Wyatt Keener, sons, Marc Keener (Joyce) and John Keener (Marie); stepchildren, Lisa Tillinghast (Bill) and Joey Bradley, all of Boiling Springs; grandson, Austin Keener; stepgrandchildren, Eric Gamble (Taryn), Kellie Gamble, Amanda Hutchins (Matt), B. J. Tillinghast (Kelly), and Corey Tillinghast; adopted grandchildren, Brent Burcham (Jenna) and Steve Burcham (Stephany); a brother, Bob Keener of Seneca, SC; sisters, Joyce Vickers (Millard) of Newton, NC and Alda Yount of Lincolnton, NC. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, April 18, 2011, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Hank Williams and the Rev. Bobby Linsay.
