Daniel Dewey “Pop” Huffman, Jr., 95, of Spartanburg, died Monday, May 31, 2021, at his home. Born September 10, 1925 in Thomasville, NC, he was the son of the late Daniel Dewey Huffman, Sr. and Annie Pearl Ammons Huffman and was married to the late Ella Louise Roberts Huffman.
A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Huffman was a member of the storied Navy SEALS team. He was a retired truck driver with Hennis Freight Lines and Spector Red Ball, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and Eastside Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening grapes and flowers and his beloved dog Drago.
Surviving are his daughters, Rebecca Louise Marlowe (Carl) of Ocean Isle, NC, Sheila Wolfe Crosby (Charles) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Sharon H. Brown (Larry) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jeffery Marlowe (Erin), Sam Marlowe (Mary Kate), Casey Rush (Jamey), Clayton Wolfe, Matthew Brown (Lacey), Lindsay Hudson (Lee), and Cody Brown; great-grandchildren, Kailey, Payton, Lucas, Ainsley, and Kara Marlowe, Dawson Moon, Zoei Bradley, Keegan Bradley, Emerson Rush, Drake Rush, Charlie Kate, Owen Rush ,Emma Crosby, Kloe Crosby, and Reid Hudson; brother, Norman Huffman (Lillie) of Honey Hill, SC, and sister, Jane Wheeless of High Point, NC. He was predeceased by grandson, Jason Gillen.
