Daniel E. Glover, 73, of Spartanburg, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home of Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Claude Clarence and Lois Suber Glover. Mr. Glover was retired from the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) after 33 years of service. He was a member of the SC Environmental Health Association, the SC Employee's Association, and a life member of the Spartanburg Amateur Radio Club. He was also a lifelong member of Second Presbyterian Church where he served as a former deacon, chairman of the Board of Deacons, and president of the Men of the Church. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Goforth Glover; son, Eric Glover and his wife Jennifer of Spartanburg; daughter-in-law, Susan Glover of Campobello; sister, Betty McCall of Inman; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Brett Glover. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Second Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Steven H. Rhodes. Burial will be in Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery.
