Dana Marsden Moore, 71, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, May 18, 2018, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born April 5, 1947, in Washington DC, he was the son of the late William O. Moore Sr. and Elaine Tate Moore. A U. S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Moore was an instructor at the SC School for the Deaf & Blind in the multi-handicapped area. He taught Physical Education in elementary schools in Spartanburg School District 7, was coach of the Golf Team at Spartanburg High School and also an adjunct professor at Converse College. He earned his Bachelor Degree at the University of Georgia and Master's Degree from Gardner-Webb University. Dana was a two-time Senior County Golf Champion and had 12 career holes-in-one. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, served on the Board of Directors for the Charles Lea Center and volunteered with First Tee of Spartanburg and the American Red Cross. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Margaret Sakowski Moore; daughters, Meagan Moore of Fort Mill, SC and Brennan Roberts (Dave) of Tega Cay, SC; grandchildren, Finley Roberts and Hudson Roberts; and brothers, William O. Moore Sr. of Maryville, TN and Stanley Moore of Huntersville, NC. A service honoring his memory will be conducted at 4:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Dale Rawlings. Visitation will follow the service at the Chapel.
