Dale Blackwood

Dale Edward Blackwood, 64, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Pelham Medical Center. Born October 16, 1949, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Ray E. Blackwood and Ava Lou Willingham Blackwood Hines. A veteran of the U. S. Army Reserves, Mr. Blackwood was retired from Michelin, was of the Baptist faith, and he loved to drag race. Survivors include his children, Trent Keller and Kellen Holtzclaw (Chris), all of Spartanburg, SC; and granddaughters, Natalie and Ava Holtzclaw. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Lyle Blackwood. Visitation will be 12:00 noon - 12:45 PM Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29303. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel. Burial will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens, 1011 S. Alabama Ave., Chesnee, SC 29323. Memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at their respective homes.
