Cynthia Knight Pruitt, 68, of 115 Fieldstone Road, died Friday, September 04, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was born August 19, 1941 in Spartanburg a daughter of the late Odious and Lucille Sapoch Knight and was the wife of James R. "Jimmy" Pruitt, Jr., of Spartanburg. She retired this year from Dawkins Middle School after forty-two years of service with Spartanburg District Six. She was a member of Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Daughters of the King, a lay reader and chalice bearer, and a former member of the Vestry. Mrs. Pruitt was an avid quilter and a volunteer with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter: Shannon Elizabeth Snow of Spartanburg; a son: Jaime Pruitt of Spartanburg; a sister Suzette Anna Knight of Tampa, Fl; two granddaughters: Jessica McCallister and Nicole Vaughn; one grandson: Hunter Pruitt and one great-grandson: Ashton McCallister. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 7, 2009 at Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church conducted by The Rev. Robert L. Brown. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. The family is at the home of her son Jaime, at 211 North Hamlett Court Moore.
