Crystal Disher

January 17, 1980 — December 14, 2020

Crystal Ann Disher, 40, of Spartanburg died on Monday December 14, 2020. Born January 17, 1980 in Killeen, TX, she was the daughter of Annette Daniels of Spartanburg and Joseph Costa of Alabama. Survivors include her mother and father, listed above; her sister and brother-in-law, Brandy (Costa) and Brandon Cheleotis and nieces, Megan and Peyton all of Boiling Springs. She also leaves behind three children; daughter and son-in-law, Christianna (Vance) and Zachary Short and their daughter, Maci of Virginia, daughter Kindall Disher and son, Layne Disher of Virginia. Crystal is survived by many grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who will love and miss her. It is impossible to capture a person in an obituary, and especially someone whose life was largely defined by drug addiction. To some, Crystal was just an addict, when they saw her addiction, they stopped seeing her. What a loss that was for them, because Crystal had a gypsy soul and was a free spirit. She loved hard, and cared for many. Crystal was vibrant and funny. She was a loving mother and grandmother. To really know her was to love her. Her addiction started early in life and was an ongoing battle until she ultimately succumbed to it. She was deeply loved and will be missed by many. The family is at the home of the sister. In lieu of flowers, the family requests making a donation to Faith Homes or an addiction rehabilitation center of your choosing. Esther's Prayer "This is Your day, Lord. I want to be at Your disposal. I have no idea what these next 24 hours will contain. But before I begin, before I sip my first cup of coffee, and even before I get dressed, I want You to know that from this moment on throughout this day, I'm Yours, Lord. Help me to be a branch that abides in the vine, to lean on you, to draw strength from you, and to have you fill my mind and my thoughts. Take control of my senses so that I am literally filled with Your presence and power and dynamic. I want to be Your tool, Your vessel today. I can't make it happen. Without You I can accomplish nothing. And so I'm saying, Lord, fill me with Your spirit today."
