Corrie Harrison

Corrie Emily Strange Harrison, 95, of Spartanburg, died Monday, February 7, 2011 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville. Born May 5, 1915 in Walnut Grove, she was the daughter of the late Roy Nesbitt and Lillie O'Shields Strange and wife of the late Whitner Earl Harrison. Mrs. Harrison was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Woodruff, a volunteer at BJ Workman Hospital, and devoted to her family and faith. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Gillespie and her husband David of Moore, and Donna Casey and her husband Thomas of Greenville; a son, Ted Harrison and his wife Brenda of Woodruff; seven grandchildren, Donna Ann Mears, David Gillespie Jr., Tamara Preston, Mark Casey, Ted Harrison Jr., Emily Rhodes, and Ben Harrison; twelve great-grandchildren, Skylar Gillespie, Allen Gillespie, Sloane Gillespie, Griffin Preston, Lilly Preston, Levi Preston, Hudson Casey, Tinsley Casey, Addie Ree Harrison, Whit Harrison, Ollie Rhodes, and Harrison Rhodes; a step-great-grandson, Barrett Mears; and two great-great-granddaughters, Angel and Grace Mears. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church, conducted by Pastor Mark Casey and the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit. Burial will be in First Presbyterian Church Woodruff Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church-Woodruff, Cemetery Fund, 306 E. Georgia Street, Woodruff, SC 29388. The family is at their respective homes.
