Cornelia Guyton

Cornelia Brown Guyton, 73, of Pacolet, SC, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at her home. Born December 26, 1941, in Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Carroll Walter Brown, Sr. and Lucy Humphries Brown. A loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Guyton loved being the supervisor for hash BBQ's on holidays. She was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher. She retired from Milliken Research, was a graduate of Pacolet High School, and was also a certified nursing assistant. Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Tommy Guyton; sons, Jody Guyton (Judy) of Gaffney, SC and Tommy Douglas Guyton (Katherine) of Cochran, GA; grandchildren, Amanda, Blake, Cody, and Nikki; five great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Neil Brown (Pearlene) of Clyde, NC, Gail Moser (Edward) of Monroe, NC, Kevin Brown (Linda) of Garden City, SC, and Randy Brown (Geraldine) of Gastonia, NC. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Carroll Walton Brown, Jr. Visitation will be 12:00-12:45 PM Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Brown's Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, at the church, conducted by Pastor Ralph Jett and the Rev. Dr. Tim Fowler. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372.
