Constance Reid Holler Heyward passed away peacefully on June 21, 2016 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was born January 3rd, 1932 in Columbia, South Carolina, to Arthur William Holler Jr. and Miriam Hearon Holler. She grew up in Columbia and Myrtle Beach and dearly loved her horse Shamrock. She was a 1953 graduate of the University of South Carolina, a member of Chi Omega and received her Masters of Library Science from Emory University in Atlanta. She had a long and fulfilling career as a high school English teacher and librarian, primarily at Wheeler High School in Cobb County. After retirement she lived in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She had a lifelong interest in reading and learning which she passed on to her four children. Mrs. Heyward was predeceased by her parents, and by her daughter Reid Heyward Skubic of North Carolina. She is survived by her brothers Arthur William Holler III (Carol) and Donald Moultrie Holler (Heather), daughter Cary Heyward of Creswell, Oregon, sons Hack Heyward (Cassandra) of Bend, Oregon and William Heyward (Jennifer) of Atlanta, Georgia, son in-law Ronald Skubic of Holden Beach, North Carolina, three nieces, and four grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at White Oak Estates for the quality of care she enjoyed in her later years. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
