Colby Wilson

Charles-Patrick Colby Wilson, 31, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016. Born October 25, 1984, in Spartanburg, Colby was the son of Cynthia Carol Hutchens Wilson and Johnathan Michael Wilson of Spartanburg. Colby attended the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind's Multi-Handicapped School from 1988 to 2004. While attending SCSDB, he was surrounded by a dedicated, nurturing, and thoughtful faculty and staff, and countless families that came to be lifelong friends. Despite his many challenges in life, particularly his ability to understand the world around him, he always showed love and happiness to his family and friends, and brought joy to the hearts of those around him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Anthony Shawn-Michael Wilson and his wife Janet Monaco Wilson of Spartanburg, SC; cousins, Caroline Elizabeth Johnson of Clemson, SC, Talmadge Alsey Johnson of Charleston, SC, and Hutchens Newell Johnson of Mayesville, SC; aunts and uncles, Mrs. And Mrs. James Henry Johnson (Beverly) of Mayesville, SC and Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Matthew Wilson (Gaye) of Spartanburg, SC; and grandmothers, Mrs. Cecil J.R. Wilson (Sin Cha) and Mrs. Charles Eugene Hutchens (Pat), both of Spartanburg, SC. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Charles Eugene Hutchens and Cecil J.R. Wilson. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 3, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. John L. Warren, Jr. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
