Col. Harry George Christopher, U.S. Army, Retired, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Brookdale at Skylyn. Born February 27, 1931 in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late William and Lucille Christopher. He was a 1949 graduate of McKeesport High School, a 1956 graduate of The U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and received his Master's degree from the University of Tennessee in 1964. He was a retired Colonel from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service (1956-1986), receiving many decorations, ribbons, and honors. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam as both an aviator and a Transportation Management Officer. A Lutheran by faith, Harry was a kind, considerate, and generous man who was loved by all who knew him. Surviving are his wife, Gwendolyn Christopher; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ann Christopher of Moore, SC; and his grandchildren, David Christopher (Aliece), Kimberly Christopher, John Christopher, and Michael Christopher.
