Clyde Gould

Clyde Stuart Gould, 92, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Magnolia Place-Spartanburg. Born January 27, 1923, in Whitinsville, MA, he was the son of the late William Stuart and Lillian M. Young Gould. A U. S. Navy veteran and member of American Legion Post #28, Mr. Gould was retired from Draper Corporation and SACM Textiles Inc. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia and a lifetime member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was also an avid golfer and member of Huntington Hills Country Club (Cotton Creek Country Club), the Spartanburg County Senior Golf Club, and a volunteer for Mobile Meals Service. Surviving is his beloved wife of 62 years, Margaret Cawley Gould; children, Elizabeth Steifle (Jerry) of Moore, SC, Eleanor Rogers (Alan) of Oxford, GA, Nancy Peters (Greg) of Wilmington, NC, Patricia Pope (Brett) of Greensboro, NC, and William Gould (Susie) of Greenville, SC; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Jesus, Our Risen Savior Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Frank Palmieri. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
