Clifton Clete Campbell, Jr.

Clifton Clete Campbell, Jr., lovingly known as Buster, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the age of 76.   

Cliff was born on April 9, 1947, in Statesville, North Carolina, to his parents, Clifton C. Campbell and Janice Fern Munday.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. 

Throughout his life, Cliff found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a love for salt-water fishing, NASCAR, and Clemson Football.  Above all else, Cliff cherished spending time with his family. He was a loving family man who always prioritized creating meaningful memories.

Cliff is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Patricia D. Campbell.  Cliff will also be deeply missed by his three children: Melanie Bagwell (Alan), James A. Campbell (Melissa), and Clifton A. Campbell (Beth).  

In addition to his children, Cliff leaves behind four grandchildren: Gabriel Bagwell (Tara), Ava Campbell, Maya Campbell, and Colin Campbell, three great-grandchildren also survive Cliff: James Paul Bagwell, Campbell Bagwell, and Sarah Bagwell.  Cliff is also survived by his brother, Jim Campbell, and his nephew Chad Campbell (Lauren). 

To honor the life of Cliff Campbell, Jr., The family will receive friends at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel in Spartanburg, SC on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM. Following the visitation, a funeral service from 3:00 PM at the same location. Rev. Alan Bagwell will officiate.  Burial will be a private event for the family only.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Children’s Playground Fund, Friendship Baptist Church, 1600 Holly Springs Rd. Lyman, SC 29365.
