Claude William Steadman, 81, of Roebuck, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, at his home. Born June 21, 1927, in Moore, SC, he was the son of the late Palmer Mason and Addie Mae Tolleson Steadman. A graduate of Woodruff High School, he was a retired salesman with National Welders in Charlotte, NC, after 27 years of service. He was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church, a Mason and member of Roebuck Masonic Lodge #357, a Shriner, and a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Lipscomb Steadman; a daughter, Claudette S. Cunnold and her husband David of Alpharetta, GA; a sister, Bessie Christopher of Spartanburg; a brother, Joseph Ned Steadman and his wife Deloris of Virginia Beach, VA; a grandson, Andrew David Cunnold of Alpharetta, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, John, J. B., and Pete Steadman. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tim Williams and the Rev. Ondra Black.
