Clarence “Lewis” Moore, 74, of Spartanburg, SC died Thursday, January 5, 2023. Born October 24, 1948 in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Clarence Edwin and Nellie Murphy Moore.
Lewis was a dedicated fire fighter with the city of Spartanburg for over 25 years and was self employed as a painter and contractor for over 45 years. He also worked as a delivery driver with Car Quest for over 8 years. Lewis was a past brother of Masonic Lodge 210 and was a Hejaz Shriner. He never met a stranger and was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Moore; daughters, Paige Biggs (Brian) and Holly Jolley (Philip); grandchildren, Haley Petty, Angelica Bowlds (Nick), Hannah Murphy (Levi), Ashley Berry (Josh), and Cole Jolley; sisters, Nancy Davis and Ann Alexander; mother-in-law, Doris Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lewis is predeceased by his father-in-law, Carlisle Bennett.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
