Clarence Poole, Jr.

Clarence "Junior" Edgar Poole, Jr., 79, of Spartanburg, also known as "Papa" to his grand and great-grandchildren, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born August 29, 1931, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Clarence Edgar Poole, Sr. and Nettie Blackwell Poole. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Genelle Weathers Poole, of the home. Mr. Poole was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Judy Tiller, Larry and Ronnie Poole; grandchildren, Richie, David, Justin, & Jerry Poole, and Kasey Palmer; a special great-grandson raised by his great-grandparents, Nate Poole; and great-grandchildren, Shelby and Maddie Poole, Seth and Alyssa Triplett; two brothers; four sisters; and his beloved pets, Luke, Lucky, and Brownie. He was predeceased by a son, Richard Poole, and a daughter, Wanda Joy Poole. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. David Bosler. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
