Clarence Nolan Jr., 83, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born September 18, 1928, in Spartanburg County, he was the husband of the late Emmie Louise Case Nolan and son of the late Clarence Nolan Sr. and Clara Williams Nolan. Mr. Nolan was a former member of the SC National Guard, retired from Kohler Company after 34 years of service, an avid fisherman, and of the Holiness faith. Surviving are his daughters, Linda N. Arrowood of Cowpens, SC, Carol N. Gossett of Spartanburg, SC, Cathy N. McAbee of Converse, SC, Myra N. McCombs of Boiling Springs, SC, and Jana N. Durham of Spartanburg, SC; son, Jeffrey Scott Nolan of Spartanburg, SC; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Malcolm Kenneth Nolan of Tennessee; and sisters, Shirley Conley of Oregon, Ruth Hawkins of Spartanburg, SC, and Sara Howell of Georgia. He was predeceased by three brothers, Bill Nolan, Leon Nolan, and Roy Nolan; and a sister, Marie Bowman. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 14, 2012, in Sunset Memorial Park, by the Rev. Marvin Durham Jr. and the Rev. Johnny Jones. The family is at their respective homes.
