Clarence William "Jr." Fortner, 75, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 23, 1941, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late William Earl and Lillian Cochran Fortner. A U. S. Air Force veteran, Mr. Fortner loved his family, fishing, and the Carolina Gamecocks. He was the Safety and Compliance Coordinator for Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for 34 years and a member of Inman First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Donna Schultz Fortner; son, Rev. Sean Fortner (Dawn) of Lyman, SC; grandchildren, Dylan Fortner and Kylie Fortner, both of Lyman, SC; brother, Jerry Fortner of Boiling Springs, SC; and two fur babies, Lexie and Tulip Grace. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother and one sister. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, by the Rev. Wesley Campbell and Mr. Perry Sullivan. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
