Clara Fitch DeLamar, 87, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Skylyn Place Health Center. Born June 17, 1923, in Shelby, NC, she was the daughter of the late William McKinley and Lelia Self Fitch and wife of the late Jacob Thomas DeLamar, Sr. Mrs. DeLamar was a professional secretary, having worked her entire life in this capacity, at the Soil Conservation Service, Dorman High School, and Converse College. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, William David DeLamar and his wife Wendy of Bartlesville, OK, formerly of Greer; two grandchildren, Christina Noelle and Benjamin Thomas DeLamar and his wife Robyn; two great-grandchildren, Brentley Thomas and Mykayla Grace DeLamar; a daughter-in-law, Alice Loche DeLamar; and three sisters, Andrea McSwain of Boiling Springs, NC, Edith Christian of Davidson, NC, and Betty Edwards of Roaring River, NC. She was predeceased by a son, Jacob Thomas DeLamar, Jr. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. A. Mickey Fisher.
