Christine Skates

Christine Holbert Skates, 78, of Coverse, wife of 57 years to Tillman Skates, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Restorative Care. She was born May 29, 1932 to Tom and Flossie Jane Holbert and was of the Wesleyan faith. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Skates is survived by a daughter, Gail Skates Pettit (Jimmy) and their two daughters, Jessica and Hannah Pettit; a son, Lucky Roland Seay (Chris) and their two children, Lynn Parnell and Michael Boyter; two grandchildren, Carla Gill and Tillman Seay; and two sisters, Frances Holbert and Mary Worley. She was predeceased by two daughters, Yvonne Branch and Freida Carol Warlick; a sister, Azalee Gossett; and two brothers, James and Calvin Holbert. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by her grandson, Michael Boyter. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
