Christine Justice Hope, 79, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at her home. Born July 30, 1930, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn Phillip and Mae Abbott Justice and the wife of the late Harry Glenn Hope. She attended Spartanburg Junior College and was a retired Business Manager from Spartanburg Technical College. She was an active member of Saxon Baptist Church for 70 years where she was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, church hostess for 50 years, and their first female deacon. She was a board member for Young Life, a volunteer for various Christian ministries, and owned a catering business. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Hope Hood and her husband John of Spartanburg, and Joy Ballenger and her husband Donnie of Inman; a son, Steven Glenn Hope and his wife Anne Marie of Due West, SC; ten grandchildren, Justin, Cherith, and Julianna Hood of Spartanburg, Christianna Hood Greene and her husband Wesley of Boiling Springs, Charlotte, Glenn, Abby, and Graham Hope of Due West, Hope Lawter and her husband Mickey, and Jared Ballenger of Inman; three great-grandchildren, Chase, Blaine, and Kaia Grace Lawter of Inman; four sisters, Carolyn Wright of Asheville, NC, Beverly Hicks of Marshville, NC, Helen Steele and Barbara Bogan, both of Spartanburg; and a brother, Royce Justice of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Monty King. Burial will be in Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307; or the Alzheimer's Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. The family is at the home of her daughter, Kay Hood, 300 Heathwood Drive, Spartanburg.
