Christine Collins

Christine Harvey Collins, 89, of Lexington, SC and formerly of Spartanburg, SC, widow of John L. Collins, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Carolina Gardens-Lexington, SC. Born October 28, 1927, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late William W. Harvey, Sr. and Bessie Mae McCraw Harvey and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Collins was a member of Skylyn United Methodist Church and retired from Milliken & Company. Survivors include her children, Marianne Barnes (Jim) of Greenville, SC, Nancy Collins and Toni Collins McCants, both of Lexington, SC, and John L. Collins, Jr. of Toccoa, GA; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Ashley Arrowood; brothers and sister, William "Bill" Harvey, Bobby D. Harvey, Mary H. Thornton, Gene Harvey, and Carl Harvey; daughter-in-law, Donna Collins; and son-in-law, Cecil McCants. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by her grandson, The Rev. Mike Thompson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
