Christine Cathcart

Christine Harrison Cathcart, 96, formerly of 6 Poplar Leaf Drive, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Valley Falls Terrace. Born June 13, 1912, in the Walnut Grove Community of Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Pearl Trail Harrison and widow of Chester Lee Cathcart. She was retired from Powell Knitting Mill and was a member of Powell Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class and the Over 55 Club. She was a longtime volunteer with The Soup Kitchen at Second Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a niece and two nephews. Mrs. Cathcart was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel conducted by the Rev. Fred Thompson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
