Cheap Sun, 63, of 120 Hotel Hill Dr., Landrum, died Monday, May 9, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 1, 1948, in Cambodia, he was the son of the late Sok and Somsari Cheap. Mr. Sun was a longtime employee of Inman Mills and of the Buddhist faith. He was a former civic leader for the Cambodian Community and served with the Khmer Military. Survivors include his wife, Phally Chum Sun; two daughters, Leakhena Mel of Flat Rock, NC and Tola Ellis of Hendersonville, NC; two sons, Veasna Sun of Boiling Springs and Vannara Sun of Landrum; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Cheap Sun Memorial Fund, PO Drawer 1530, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
