Charles Edward (Eddie) Watson II, 58, died Wednesday, August 9, 2023. A native of Spartanburg, he was born on February 6, 1965, a son of Marjorie Hewitt Watson and the late Charles Edward Watson.
Eddie was a 1983 graduate of Dorman High School and was a retired Lieutenant with the City of Spartanburg Fire Department, working from 1990-2014, and he was a former city police officer from 1987 -1990. He also worked with National Fire Protection and Pye-Barker Fire and Safety. A member of the SC Fireman Association, Eddie enjoyed car shows, car collecting, cooking, grilling, fishing, and college football. He served in the US Navy from 1983-1986 aboard the USS America during the Libyan conflict.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Charles Edward (Chase) Watson, III (Erin) and Pearson Ashmore Watson (Lexy); one grandson, Asher James Watson; one sister, Kimberly W. Erwood; two nephews, Jonathan Stewart and Justin Stewart; and his four-legged buddy, “Moose”.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Monday, August 14, 2023, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Chapel, conducted by Chaplain Jeff Dover. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
