Charles Stevens

Charles Franklin "Bud" Stevens, 81, of Chesnee, SC, died Monday, December 8, 2014, at his home. Born July 1, 1933, in Boiling Springs, SC, he was the son of the late Claude Curtis and Myrtle Burnette Stevens. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Stevens loved to fish and garden and was retired from Duke Power. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, Parris Bridge Rd., Spartanburg, the Scottish Rite Free Masonry Masonic Lodge of Inman, the American Legion, and was a Shriner. Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Marlene Ware Stevens; children, Amy Ware Hardin (Brian) of Chesnee, Gina Holcomb of Spartanburg, and Phillip Stevens of Inman; grandchildren, Corey Holcomb, Nicholas Holcomb, Elizabeth Holcomb, Alexis Hardin, Taylor Stevens, and Kendall Stevens; sisters and brother, Lemira "Chick" Page, Larry Dean Stevens, Sara Ann Benton, and Judy Prince. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant son; brothers, Joe Stevens, Buck Stevens and John Stevens; and sisters, Lucille Charles and Janell Buckner. Visitation will be 11:00-11:45 AM Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service, with military rites, will follow at 12:00 noon in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Tyler Kirby, the Rev. Ken Mayfield, and the Rev. Bryan Yelton. The family is at their respective homes.
