Charles Ryan Sr.

Charles "Joe" Joseph Ryan Sr., 65, of McDonough, GA, died Saturday, August 19, 2017, at his home. Born March 13, 1952, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Elbert Lacon Ryan, Jr. and Amelia Victoria "Vicki" Miller Ryan. A lover of his family and the great outdoors, Joe was employed with Halperns' of Atlanta, GA. Survivors include his sons, Charles "Chip" Joseph Ryan Jr. (Jennifer) of Simpsonville, SC and Robert Matthew "Matt" Ryan (Amy) of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughter, Isabel Victoria Ryan of Simpsonville, SC; brothers and sisters, E. Lacon Ryan III (Barbara) and Helen Harriett Ryan, all of Spartanburg, SC, Ret. Col. Thomas Michael Ryan (Jill) of Valrico, FL, and Myra Ryan Taylor of Charleston, SC; and a large number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Mr. Robert L. Mahaffey. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
