Charles Nichols

Charles Alfred Nichols, 74, of Spartanburg, SC died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 5, 1946 in Rock Hill, SC, he was the son of the late Eugene and Helen Lowery Nichols. A graduate of Limestone College with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Mr. Nichols was the retired owner/operator of Charles Nichols Painting Company and formally employed with Milliken and Stouffers. Mr. Nichols was a loving father, grandfather, and husband. He loved to sing, play the guitar, and to tell colorful stories about his many adventures. He never met a stranger. Survivors include his wife, Linda Hart Nichols; children, Tina Wilder of Myrtle Beach, Dr. Joel Nichols (Laura) of Nashville, TN, Mollie Kirby (Michael) of Houston, TX, Brittany Tate (Daniel) of Bonaire, GA, Bobby Transiskus (Christine) of Spartanburg, Kim Taylor (Tom) of Inman, and Lisa Park (Karen) of Marietta, GA; 24 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; former spouse, Martha Skelton Patrick; sisters, Nancy Bone and Virginia Owens and brothers, Gerald, Elliott and Howard. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, December 11, 2020, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by The Rev. Gary Hensley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family will be at their respective homes.
