Charles Mcpherson

Charles William "Bubba" McPherson, 80, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, at White Oak Manor. Born October 3, 1932, in Spartanburg County, he was the husband of the late Cornelia Rhodes McPherson and son of the late N. B. McPherson Sr. and Virginia Sublett McPherson. A veteran of the U. S. Navy during the Korean War, he retired from Michelin Tire Company after 15 years of service, and was a charter member of Beaver Hill Baptist Church. He was a life long Mason and member of Roebuck Lodge #357 and a Shriner. Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca "Reba" M. Bryson and husband Jeff of Spartanburg; sons, William Ray McPherson and wife Melody of Spartanburg, John Randall McPherson and wife Sherry G. of Woodruff, and Richard Wendall McPherson and wife Chris E. of Chesnee; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sister-in-laws, Doris McPherson of Spartanburg and Mary McPherson of Corona, CA. He was predeceased by his brothers, N. B. McPherson, Jr., Jerry McPherson, Tommy McPherson, and Bobby McPherson. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 PM Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service with military honors by the American Legion will follow at 3:30 PM, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Andy Case. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Attn: Commander, 301 North Campus Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family is at the home of his son, Ray McPherson, 127 Lake Park Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
