Charles Mcabee

Charles Ray McAbee, 86, of Boiling Springs, SC died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Trinity Place. Born April 29, 1931 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Rev. Vernon McAbee and Sarah Gertrude Greer McAbee. He was the widower of Annie Ruth Seay McAbee. As a US Navy Reserve veteran, Mr. McAbee was retired from Hoechst Fibers after 21 years of service. He was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church and a member of American Legion Post 200. Survivors include a daughter, Carmella M. Hedrick (Tim) of Albermarle, NC; grandchildren, Jason Hedrick, Samarah McAbee, Briannah McAbee, and Eleah McAbee; great grandchildren, Linus Hedrick and Veronica Markey; daughter in law, Kim McAbee of Smyrna, TN; and brother, the Rev. Edward Vernon McAbee of Spartanburg. He was also predeceased by a son, Charles Hansel McAbee. Visitation will be 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, with services following at 1:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Hank Williams. Burial with military rites will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Honorary escorts will be the Hardee's Breakfast Brunch and the Sanctuary Sunday School Class.
