Charles Mathis

Charles W. Mathis, 77, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, April 4, 2010 at his home. Born December 11, 1932 in Drayton, SC, he is the son of the late Frank E. and Edna Elizabeth Pearson Mathis. He was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church and was retired from the United States Navy and Murphy Cadillac-Pontiac. Survivors include his wife, Barbara L. Mathis; a son, Howard Mathis; two daughters, Debrah Albury and Roberta Ballenger; a sister, Doris Rogers; a brother, Frank Mathis; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. B. Gene Baker. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Holy Communion Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1430 John B.
