Charles Erwin Klocko, 69, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born November 5, 1950, he was the son of the late Erwin Klocko and Vera Klocko. Charles Klocko was the type of person who never met a stranger. He was kindhearted, easy going and loved nothing more than a good baseball game, the Michigan Wolverines, and someone to listen to his corny jokes (which he never ran out of). He worked with blind children and young adults teaching them mobility until his retirement from the South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind in 2010. Through his work he got to know half of Spartanburg and never forgot a name or face. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa who would drop everything for his family without pause. He truly was a wonderful human being and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Ann; son, Scott (Shannon) of Boiling Springs; daughter, Andrea (Omar) of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Luca, Myles and Henri Figueroa, Charlie Klocko, and Katie Whitehouse; sisters, Kathie Adams (Bill) of Tucson, AZ and Judith Beckman (Ralph) of Providence, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, June 12, 2020, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 290 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, with a reception to follow in the Parish and Family Life Center.
