Charles Hallman

Charles Milton Hallman, 85, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, September 8, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was born August 2, 1932 in Spartanburg, SC and was raised by his grandparents, Big Daddy and MaMa. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy West Hallman; son, Jeff Hallman (Patricia) of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Kelly Scoggins (David) of Columbia, SC; and grandchildren, Daniel, Cole, Matt, Avalon, and Taila. He was predeceased by his son, Brett Hallman; granddaughter, Calli Hallman; and three brothers. As a leader on the basketball team for Spartanburg High School Class of 1950, Buck then went to Spartanburg Methodist College where he excelled in basketball as well. As a U. S. Navy veteran, he served in the Korean War. Buck was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired as head of security for First Baptist Church Spartanburg. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 15, 2017 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Brian Humphries.
