Charles Paul Edge II, 87, of 104 Hidden Ridge Drive, Spartanburg, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Spartanburg Restorative Care. Born August 29, 1924, in Enoree, SC, he was a son of the late Nannie George and Charles Paul Edge I. He was the retired owner of (Edge TV Inc.) Curtis Mathes Home Entertainment Center. He was a very active member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Board of Deacons, RA leader, and member of the Finance Committee. Mr. Edge served with the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II. He was the husband of the late Margaret Ruth (Marge) Howe Edge. Survivors include two sons, Steve E. Edge and wife, Susan West Edge of Duncan and Charles Paul Edge III and wife, Cynthia of Moore; a grandson, Robby Edge; step-grandchildren, Brad and Brook Sill; one sister, Marcelle Rogers of Clemson, SC. He was predeceased by a brother, Elroyd Edge, and a sister, Louise Goble. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 12, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Scott Linnerud and the Rev. J. Michael Hensley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 4000 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family is at the home.
