Charles Dorman

Charles "Shod" Dennis Dorman, 83, of Cowpens, SC, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at his home. Born February 2, 1934, in Cowpens, he was the son of the late Charles Henry Dorman and Lillie C. Morrow Dorman and husband for 58 years to the late Betty Jane Tolleson Dorman. A U. S. Navy veteran, Mr. Dorman retired from Hoechst Celanese. He was a member of Cowpens First Baptist Church, the 1951 American Legion State Championship Baseball Team, Lan-Yair County Club (his second home) and more recently a member of The Creek Golf Club. Survivors include his daughter, Pam Camp and husband Jerry of Cowpens, SC; sons, C. Bubba Dorman of Fairfax, SC and Alan Dorman and wife Stephanie of Spartanburg, SC; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and wonderful aunt, Jenny Paxton of Texas. Visitation will be 11:00-11:45 AM Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Cowpens First Baptist Church, 108 W. Church St., Cowpens, SC 29330. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Bill Westafer and Mr. Ted Lipscomb. Entombment, with military rites, will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330. Pallbearers will be Shane Linder, Travis Linder, Zach Dorman, Cody Lapole, Andrew Mills, and Jeff Shockley.
