Charles Hardin

Charles "Dick" Hardin, 92, formerly of River Dr., Spartanburg, died Thursday, March 24, 2011. Born May 28, 1918, in Clifton, SC, he was the son of the late Columbus D. and Lois P. Hardin and husband of the late Beulah Bennett Hardin. Mr. Hardin was a member of Thompson Chapel Baptist Church. An avid fisherman, he was also retired from textile work. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II. Survivors include a son, Charles D. Hardin and wife Arna of Whitestone, SC; a daughter, Donna H. Blake McKinney of Mayo, SC; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. John Hardin of Simpsonville, SC; and a sister, Virginia Crocker of Spartanburg, SC. He was predeceased by ten brothers and sisters; a grandson, Darryl Blake; and a great-grandson, David Blake. Visitation will be 11:30-12:45 PM Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Lewis E. Cannon, Sr. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at their respective homes.
