Charles Courtney

Charles Lindbergh Courtney, 94, of Pasadena, TX, formerly of Pacolet Mills, SC, died Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Harbor Hospice House. Born May 7, 1928 in Pacolet, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Kyle and Grace Biggerstaff Courtney.

A US Navy veteran, Mr. Courtney served in World War II. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his children, Charles Ty Courtney (Ada) of Campobello, SC, Cassaundra Jansen of Gaffney, Kathy Willett of Wharton, TX, and Charles L. Courtney, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; 11 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Bryant, Willie Courtney, Margaret Smith and Marie Griffin.

Visitation will be 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Floyd’s Pacolet Chapel, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm, at the chapel, conducted by Mr. Kyle Courtney and Mr. Ty Courtney. Burial with Military Honors will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Drive, Pacolet, SC 29372.
