Charles Bohrer

Charles "Chuck" Richard Bohrer, 76, of Lyman, SC, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 24, 1936, in Berkeley Springs, WV, he was the son of the late Charles E. Bohrer and Evelyn Manley Shaw. A veteran of the U. S. Air Force, Mr. Bohrer retired after 24 years of military service and received the Bronze Star for actions in the Vietnam War. Following his retirement, he was employed by Palmetto Supply & Repair Company in Duncan, SC. He attended First Baptist Church of Lyman and was a member of Three Pines Country Club for many years and loved to golf, fish, and travel. Surviving is his beloved wife of 52 years, Dot Bohrer; son, Charles Randall Bohrer (Norma) of Framingham, MA; daughter, Rowena Bohrer Durham (Warren) of Columbus, NC; grandchildren, Michael Bohrer, Eric Bohrer, and Samantha Durham; sisters, Eleanor Grove of Berkeley Springs, WV, Dolores Lowe of Shepherdstown, WV, and Debbie Michael of Berkeley Springs, WV; and a special cousin, Ira Manley of Berkeley Springs, WV. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Scott Stancil. Burial with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Human Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
