Charles Bobo, Sr.

Charles Brooks Bobo, Sr., 82, died Saturday, September 21, 2013, at White Oak Manor-Spartanburg. Born September 18, 1931, in Drayton, SC, he was the son of the late C. L. and Beatrice Elizabeth Bell Bobo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean War, and was a former community development inspector for the City of Spartanburg for 27 years and also a taxidermist for 42 years. Mr. Bobo was an avid hunter and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joyce Elaine Lane Bobo; sons, Charles "Chuck" Brooks Bobo, Jr. (Chris) of Pauline, SC and Michael David Bobo of Charleston, SC; daughter, Lisa Bobo Klein (Toshio) of Inman, SC; granddaughter, Melissa Brooks Bobo of Charlotte, NC; and brother, L. Paul Bobo of Charlotte. He was predeceased by sisters, Ruth Kneece, Mary Moser, and Dorothy Thomas. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, September 23, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Edgar Boles. Burial with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home.
