Charles Glenn Adams, 78, of Moore, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. His passing was a result of complications from exposure to Agent Orange during his service in the Vietnam War.
Born on September 6, 1946, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late William Durward Adams and Ruby Lee Adams, Glenn dedicated 46 years of his career to Lockwood Greene Engineering.
A proud veteran, he served his country as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971, courageously serving in the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated Freemason and a member of the Shriners, finding fellowship and purpose in their respective missions. He also served as a Commander of the VFW Post 9539, where he cherished the camaraderie and shared experiences with his fellow service members.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Burns Adams; his three devoted children, Charles Christopher Adams (Lauren Rebecca Gramling Adams), Tracy Allison Dimsdale (Morris Joe Dimsdale), Melissa Lee Clayton; his two cherished grandsons, Wesley Adam Dimsdale and Ashton James Clayton; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Adams of Canyon Lakes, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, William Ray Adams and his sister, Brenda J. Adams.
Glenn will be greatly missed by family and close friends, who have been with him throughout his long journey.
The family welcomes friends to join them for a visitation from 4:00-6:00 pm Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A private entombment will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, officiated by Rev. Hudson Neely and Rev. Steven Rhodes.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Agape Care Hospice House and the many dedicated doctors who provided Glenn with compassionate care and support throughout his years of medical needs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
