Cecil Brown Abrams (Sandy),70, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, after a long illnessHe was born in Spartanburg County on December 31, 1953, the son of the late Cecil and Catherine Brown Abrams. 

 

Cecil was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, Spartanburg Methodist College, and Erskine College, Class of 1977He was a member of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity and was active in the alumni association at Spartanburg Methodist CollegeHis career in sales was perfect for him because he loved being with people. 

 

He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and served previously as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. 

 

Cecil is survived by his aunt, Barbara Easterly Brown; his uncle and aunt, Cecil R. and Barbara Edge Brown; and special friends, Wayne Yarborough and Dexter Bridges. 

 

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, January 29, 2024, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Cameron Treece.  

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 233 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306, Spartanburg Methodist College, 1750 Powell Mill Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301 or to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
