Command Master Chief CC Wheeler Jr. (Ret.), 87, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away very peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at his home. Born September 14, 1930, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Columbus Cordie Wheeler Sr. and Winnie Maude Bishop Wheeler. A U. S. Army World War II veteran, Mr. Wheeler retired with 30 years in the Naval Reserve Seabees. He was owner/operator and retired from Wheeler Construction after 38 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Barbara Alice Merck Wheeler; children, Douglas Michael Wheeler (Sandy) and Cathy Wheeler Lawson (Roger), all of Spartanburg, SC; three grandchildren, Roger Michael Lawson (Cary), Bonnie Lawson Evatt (Patrick), and Michelle Leigh Wheeler; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and step-daughters, Taylor Gosnell (Carlius), Susie Mann, and Trudy Wofford. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A cryptside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, May 18, 2018, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev.
