Carroll Tony Pruitt, 78, of 3 Damson Street, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at his home. Born February 15, 1931, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late James Audra and Ruth Iona Edmond Pruitt and the husband of the late Elizabeth Turrie Hodge Pruitt. He was retired from Spartan Security with 30 years of service, a member of Northside Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his five sons, Dennis, George, Jimmy, David, Randy, and their spouses, his three daughters, Norma, Patty, Marie, and their spouses, 21 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, all of Spartanburg; three brothers, Wilbur of Melbane, NC, Donald, Jerry, and their spouses, all of Spartanburg; and two sisters, Rosa Smalley of Louisiana, and Joy Jackson of Chesnee. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at Heritage Memorial Gardens at Roebuck conducted by the Rev. Weldon Burnett, the Rev. Larry W. Monday, and the Rev. John G. Smith.
