Carroll Marshall Posey 82 peacefully departed this life on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in Lexington, South Carolina. Born on September 30, 1942, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she carried with her a spirit of compassion and dedication that touched the lives of many.
Carroll served as a pastoral care pastor at Hope Church Spartanburg, where her unwavering faith and passion for helping others shone brightly. She was an integral part of the church's finance team, demonstrating not only her strong leadership abilities but also her commitment to the community she cherished. Carroll was a strong woman of faith known for her selflessness, devoting her time to visiting shut-ins and crafting beautiful baskets to bring joy to those in need. Her love for her church extended to enthusiastically decorating for Wednesday night themed dinners, making every gathering a special occasion for members and friends alike.
Carroll's proudest accomplishment was her enduring marriage of 58 years to her late husband, Mr. Charles A. Posey Jr., whose memory she held dear. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion.
She is survived by her two daughters; Christy Fins (Jonny) and Amanda Holgate, three grandchildren; Ashley Rickard (Adam), Joshua Fins (Madison) and Caleb Fins, three great-grandchildren; Amelia Blakely Fins, Sullivan Wesley Fins and Charles Bennett Rickard, and a first cousin Sarah Marler. Carroll is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles A. Posey Jr.; her father, Ray Marshall; her mother, Christine Carroll Marshall; and her sister, Ellen Lynn McClure.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Carroll’s extraordinary life on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel 2075 E. Main St. Spartanburg, SC 29307. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 PM. Carroll will then be laid to rest on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 12:00 PM, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens located at 1300 Fernwood- Glendale Road Spartanburg, SC 29307.
